Causes of Split Ends

Applys mostly for girls, but guys this can apply for some with longer hair as well. Split ends happen when the protective cuticle has been stripped away from the ends of hair fibers and are more likely to develop in dry or brittle hair, and typical causes of damage include excessive dying or vigorous brushing. Here are some reasons why we have split ends and what we should do to avoid them:
.Excessive use of hot styling tools (irons, hot curlers, blow dryers, hot combs).
.Overuse of chemical treatments like relaxers, perms, & hair coloring products.
.Use of inferior styling tools that rip or snag hair. Such as, cheap synthetic brushes or combs, brush rollers, etc.
.Environmental damage from heat, cold, wind and other climate issues.
.Lack of routine maintenance. Such as regular trimming.
.Improper detangling techniques. Part your hair and brush/comb through each section.
.Overwashing. 2 x is enough *Lather Rinse Repeat*
.Use of inferior hair care products.
.Excessive use of styling products such as gels, waxes and sprays.
